Here you can find one of our last publications, from the University of Pisa team, entitled “Mixed Integer Linear Program model for optimized scheduling of a vanadium redox flow battery with variable efficiencies, capacity fade, and electrolyte maintenance”, in this work published in the Journal of Energy Storage (vol. 59, No. 106500) the contribution is focused on improving the state of the art of optimal battery scheduling via considering their performance curves, as a function of charge/discharge power and state of charge, instead of constant efficiencies as commonly done as well as the rebalancing of vanadium-based electrolyte and servicing, instead of assuming constant battery capacity. The model has been tested with vanadium-based electrolytes while waiting for the final CompBat organic chemistries.
